Hunger Programs
Bower Hill has always been involved with projects to help deal with hunger and poverty. The following are some of the programs that were in place prior to the Hunger Action Team's new initiatives.

Members donate food and supplies to the food pantry. |
Collection of items is ongoing. Delivery of items is monthly. |
| Fair Trade Coffee |
Members purchase fair trade coffee which ensures that coffee growers receive a fair price for their coffee. |

| Letter Writing Campaign |
A letter writing campaign to politicians. |

What is the Hunger Action Team?
It all began with the One Great Hour of Sharing offering and our Lenten Study in 2006. For three weeks we met during Lent to talk about Thirst and Hunger. It was not enough! The group that got together did not just want to talk about it, they wanted to do something! So plans began to take shape. All the plans on this page started with a group of people who wanted to do something about hunger. We hope our group will grow! Join us and get in on the action.

| Washington City Mission Christmas Project - 2006 |
Bower Hill Community Church will be providing and serving Christmas dinner to the clients of the Washington City Mission in Washington, Pa. We are expecting about 150 guests and there are many opportunities to help. |

| Fill Our Truck |
Bower Hill has completed the challenge of filling up a 24' truck with food and delivering it to those still suffering from hurricane Katerina. Read about how 15,000 lbs of food was collected and delivered in 6 weeks. |

| Worship Service - Hunger Sunday |
The worship service at Bower Hill will focus on the needs of the hungry and have a special offering. |
