April 2010 - Music Notes

The Friends of Music Committee is proud to present the final concert in the 2009-2010 Concert Series, again hosting the Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh.

Sunday, April 11, there will be a noon lunch in fellowship hall, followed by a 1:00 p.m. concert in the sanctuary.

Dedicated to wind chamber music performance, composition and promotion, the Aeolian Winds of Pittsburgh was founded in September 2003 by the original University of Pittsburgh Wind Quintet. The group has since expanded to include wind chamber ensembles of varying sizes and players who are not directly a part of the University community. The group’s members bring the diverse experiences of their daily lives and chosen professions to the music-making, creating a truly unique ensemble.

The Handbell Choir will participate in the North Hills Handbell Festival at Marshall Middle School Saturday, May

The public concert is at 5:00 p.m. and admission is free.

Directions coming from the South on I-79:

Take Exit 75 (old 23) to Warrendale, Rt. 19. When you reach Rt. 19, turn right.  Shenot Road will be at the next stoplight.  Turn right, continue until you come to a stop sign (a T in the road). It is about a mile.  Turn right on Wexford Run Road. Go up the hill until you see the sign for Marshall Middle School. The school is on the left.
