Try Koinonia
Koinonia is the name of Bower Hill’s Women’s Bible Study group. If you ask current members of the group, many will tell you that Koinonia is one of the best things going on at our church! The group meets on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 am until 10:30 am in the Lounge from September through May. Koinonia is a Greek word meaning “fellowship”. While we come together to learn and to deepen our faith, equally important is the fellowship we share with one another. A strong Biblical background is not required to be a member…all you need is a desire to grow.

(Men) Enjoy reading contemporary books?

x   Join the Men’s Group
This is a group of men who meet for fellowship and book discussion. The group is led by the Rev. Leonard Sponaugle. They meet each Monday at 6:45 am in Room 103.

Bower Hill Braillists
Volunteers create braille versions of literary books for the lending library, which ships books to readers all over the country. They also produce textbooks, math books, and other educational material for schools and colleges. For those who want to learn how to create braille material, a 22 week class is conducted once a year.

Hunger Projects
We have made alleviating hunger a priority. The church has been collecting food for the Wallace Presbyterian Church food pantry for many years. In May, 2006, with the help of the community, we collected 14,000 lbs of food for the Hurricane Katrina victims. On October 14, 2006, we a planning a day long event to raise awareness and raise money. Join us in planning this and other events.

Mt. Washington Tutoring

All lessons are supplied by the coordinator. The program is designed so no teaching experience is necessary. Help us teach the children.
