Confirmation Classes
For eight/ninth graders considering the meaning of becoming a church member, weekly confirmation classes are held during the year. A service of confirmation is held at the completion of the class.
Nursery
Childcare for infants to age 3 is available on Sundays from 9:15 am until 11:45 am in
our Nursery near the sanctuary. Ask an usher for directions.
Sunday School
This year, Bower Hill will provide educational opportunities for using an innovative curriculum called Seasons of the Spirit. Every Sunday children and youth will explore the same lesson that is used as the guiding theme of worship. Children in preschool through fifth grade begin in worship and then proceed to class after the children's message. Youth classes will be held after worship. classes and worship are modeled after the same four movements: gathering: a time of welcome, song and prayer; engaging: a time of in depth exploring of the daily scripture and its connection to our lives; responding: an active time of hands on learning and personal reflection; and blessing; a time for reviewing and ending with a prayer and blessing. As a supplement to the educational experience, elementary students are given home family devotional experience; Bible Journey, written by Debby Hayes.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School takes place for one week each summer for children entering kindergarten through grade six. It is a theme based Bible school, which runs in late June or early July. Adults have as much fun as the kids. Wouldn't you like to take part as an adult staff member, teen helper, or student? Planning begins in late January for the 2009 VBS Session, which is scheduled to run June 22 through the 26th. Watch for details in the church newsletter. More Details

Koinonia
 |
Koinonia is the name of the Bower Hill Women’s Bible Study group. Current members of the group will tell you that Koinonia is one of the best things going on at our church! We meet on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 until 10:30 in the Lounge from September through May. Koinonia is a Greek word meaning “fellowship.” While we come together to learn and to deepen our faith, equally important is the friendship and fellowship that we share with one another. Every year we look forward to adding new members to our group, so why not give it a try this year. A strong Biblical background is not required …all you need is a desire to learn and to grow. If you are interested in joining the group, please call Kathy Philson at 412-531-7539. |
